Brooklyn, NY — As one of New York City’s leading grassroots political organizations, the Vanguard Independent Democratic Association (VIDA) remains committed to supporting candidates who align with its mission of empowering communities, advancing social and economic justice, and fostering political engagement at all levels of government. Following a vote of its membership body, VIDA proudly announces its 2026 endorsements of Stefani L. Zinerman for re-election to the New York State Assembly and Marlon Rice for New York State Senate, District 25.
VIDA’s endorsement decisions are grounded in a democratic, member-led process that includes candidate interviews, issue-based evaluations, and open discussion among district leaders and members. Both endorsements were approved by a majority vote of VIDA’s membership, reflecting strong confidence in the candidates’ leadership and alignment with the organization’s values.
Assemblymember Zinerman has earned VIDA’s continued support through her consistent advocacy for affordable housing, public education, healthcare access, and economic opportunity. Her leadership has delivered tangible results for Brooklyn communities and demonstrated a deep commitment to equity and accountability in state government.
“Assemblymember Zinerman has shown time and again that she listens to her constituents and leads with integrity,” said VIDA President, Tiffanie Burt. “Our membership was proud to vote in favor of her re-election.”
Through VIDA’s 2026 candidate interview process, Marlon Rice articulated a strong, community-centered vision for New York State Senate District 25, emphasizing affordability, public safety, economic development, and responsive governance.
“Following a thoughtful interview process, our membership voted to endorse Marlon Rice because of his commitment to Democratic values, grassroots leadership, and community-powered representation,” said Burt.
VIDA looks forward to mobilizing its members and partners in support of both endorsed candidates as they campaign toward the 2026 June primary election.
