Brooklyn, New York – The Vanguard Independent Democratic Association (VIDA) announced its 2025 executive board, welcoming a new President and five newly elected board members.
The historic Brooklyn community-based organization will usher in a new era, with Tiffanie Burt elected by a unanimous vote as the association’s new President. Burt began her new role after the Saturday General Body meeting, recently serving as Vice President for Communications and Executive Board Member. District Leader Henry Butler will transition to a senior advisor role after leading the organization since —-

I know the legacies that have come before me and I am excited for the legacy we will create going forward in creating political empowerment. This moment is a shift to prepare V.I.D.A for the next 50 years to come. I’m ready to work and I hope the community is ready too because we’ve got great work to do.”
Board members were elected by VIDA’s membership body, which gathered for the Monthly General Body Meeting on Saturday, January 17th, 2025.
